In order to ensure proper communication it is essential to be aware of the manner in which we and others process information. Of course, often are attempts to explore it instinctive and even unconscious. Team leaders, trainers, teachers and members of family, for example, may develop casual opinions about people around them, but these opinions often appear erroneous because they may be influenced by many other factors irrelevant to the situation at hand.

The above problems can be solved with this interesting and useful computer-based method, which identifies and describes people's information processing methods and the factors behind them.

The method is used to assess the information processing methods of the analysed individuals. These preferences are viewed from four different perspectives:

1. General information processing method, which includes qualities such as
• analytical and logical
• form-attached and systematic
• social
• innovative

2. Background factors, such as
• introvert and extrovert
• information processing based on sensory experience and personal thoughts (intuition)
• balancing of emotions and reason in actions
• speed in decision-making, i.e. whether the person is a thinker or solver

3. Method of acquiring new information, with three conceptual pairs
• emphasis on seeing or hearing in acquiring information
• emphasis on detail or larger concepts
• primary objective in acquiring information is to memorise things or understand the meaning

4. Other mental attributes include
• mental alertness
• active participation in learning
• self-esteem

The MindResources Individual produces a visual and verbal profile of the dimensions and emphases of a person's information processing methods. Different learning preferences, communication and interactive inclinations and their levels are also analysed. In addition, analysed individuals are positioned in one of the five subgroups of a control group consisting of about 18 000 persons.
